How to play Pirate Pong

Pirate Pong is a free AR face tracking game you can play online with no download. Your head is the paddle — bounce cannonballs back and sink the pirate ship! Move your head to steer; mouth/blink actions as shown. It uses on-device AI tracking, so Pirate Pong turns any webcam or phone camera into a motion controller – a fun way to move, laugh and show friends what the browser can do.

Open Pirate Pong, allow camera access and hold still for a second while your face is detected. Video is processed on your device and never uploaded.

Controls

  • Move or tilt your head (nose) to steer and aim.
  • Open your mouth or blink for the special action shown on screen.
  • Look straight at the camera at the start so the game can calibrate.

Tips

  • Face a window or lamp – good light makes tracking far more accurate.
  • Keep your whole face inside the frame, about an arm's length from the camera.

Pirate Pong game guide

Goal of the game

In Pirate Pong you play with your face and head movements. A pirate ship fires cannonballs at your raft. Move your HEAD left and right to slide the raft under each ball and bounce it back. Every ball that hits the ship damages it — sink it to face a tougher captain!

A ball that gets past you costs a life. Bounce into power-ups: Giant raft, Triple ball and Extra Life.

Quick start

Pirate Pong in one line: Your head is the paddle — bounce cannonballs back and sink the pirate ship!

  • Press Play on this page — Pirate Pong loads in a few seconds right in the browser.
  • Tap Allow when the browser asks for the camera, then read the short tutorial card.
  • Play your first run of Pirate Pong slowly to learn how it reacts to your face and head movements.
  • After a game over, press Play again to try to beat your best.

Controls explained

  • Quick reminder shown in Pirate Pong: Head left/right = move the raft.
  • Sit facing the camera with your whole face in view; Pirate Pong reads your nose position, blinks and mouth on your own device.
  • Exaggerate actions a little — a clear blink or wide-open mouth registers more reliably in Pirate Pong than a tiny one.
  • If Pirate Pong feels too hard at first, play a practice round to learn the timing before chasing a high score.

Scoring and levels

Points in Pirate Pong come from the code-defined rewards of 5 and 100 points for different actions, so the bigger moves are worth chasing. Every 300 points you reach a new level, and Pirate Pong speeds up and sends more at you each time. You start with 3 lives. Your best score is saved in your browser, and signed-in players also appear on the Pirate Pong leaderboard.

Power-ups

Power-up orbs appear every few seconds in Pirate Pong. Touch or collect them to activate:

  • 🍄 Giant (8 s): makes you bigger, so hits and catches are much easier.
  • ✨ Triple (8 s): multiplies your attack or catch three ways.
  • ❤️ Extra Life: adds one life (up to six).
  • ⏳ Slow-Mo (6 s): slows the whole game down so you can line up precise moves.

Characters and world

The 3D world of Pirate Pong features ship pirates, ships, cannon balls and barrels. Learning how each one moves is the key to reading the screen quickly.

Tips and strategy

  • Aim at the nearest threat first in Pirate Pong; letting one slip through costs more than a missed shot.
  • Save your focus for the moment a Freeze or Slow-Mo starts — that is when Pirate Pong gives you free points.
  • Good, even lighting from the front makes tracking in Pirate Pong far more reliable than a bright window behind you.
  • Replay Pirate Pong a few times: each run teaches you the patterns, and scores usually double after the first five games.

Device requirements and privacy

Pirate Pong needs a front-facing or web camera and works in Chrome, Edge and Safari on phones, tablets and computers. Allow camera access when asked; face tracking runs on your device and nothing is recorded or uploaded unless you choose to record a clip yourself. It is free to play; free players may see a short ad between rounds (never during play), and Premium removes all ads.
