How to play Shout Gun
Shout Gun is a free voice controlled game you can play online with no download. Climb the staircase in a blocky standoff. Your aim swings up, and one loud shout pulls the trigger! Because you play with sound instead of buttons, Shout Gun is great for parties, kids and streamers, and every round takes only a minute or two.
Open Shout Gun and allow microphone access when your browser asks (the front camera is only used as a live background and is optional).
Controls
- Make a sound (shout, hum, sing or clap) to trigger the main action.
- Louder or longer sounds give a stronger action; silence lets go.
- Use the sensitivity slider at the bottom if the game reacts too much or too little.
Tips
- Play in a quiet room first, then raise the sensitivity for noisy places.
- Short, sharp sounds give the most precise timing.
- Grab power-ups such as shields and slow motion to survive the hard waves.

Shout Gun game guide
Goal of the game
In Shout Gun you play with the loudness of your voice. You and an enemy stand on the staircase. Your red aim line swings upward by itself. SHOUT (a short loud burst) to fire.
Hit the body for points. Hit the HEAD for a slow-motion headshot and double points! Each kill turns the zigzag staircase to the other side. If you miss, or the aim swings past without a shot, the enemy fires back (a tracer bullet, or sometimes a FIREBALL — bosses love those) and you lose a life. Every 5th stage a BOSS arrives with a health bar, so it takes several hits. Power-ups fall onto your step. Use the 🎚️ sensitivity slider so a normal shout fires.

Scoring and levels
Every 250 points you reach a new level, and Shout Gun speeds up and sends more at you each time. You start with 3 lives. Your best score is saved in your browser, and signed-in players also appear on the Shout Gun leaderboard. Watch out for boss waves, which take several hits but pay out big points.
Power-ups
Power-up orbs appear every few seconds in Shout Gun. Touch or collect them to activate:
- 🛡️ Shield (10 s): blocks the next hit so a mistake does not cost a life.
- ⏳ Slow-Mo (6 s): slows the whole game down so you can line up precise moves.
- ❤️ Extra Life: adds one life (up to six).
- 2️⃣ Double Points (10 s): doubles every point you earn while it lasts.
- ❄️ Freeze (5 s): freezes every moving threat in place.
Characters and world
The 3D world of Shout Gun features soldiers, vampires, skeletons, zombies and keepers. Learning how each one moves is the key to reading the screen quickly.
Tips and strategy
- Stay near the centre in Shout Gun; it gives you the most room to dodge in either direction.
- Don't chase every pickup in Shout Gun — grab only the ones on your safe path.
- Aim at the nearest threat first in Shout Gun; letting one slip through costs more than a missed shot.
- Rhythm matters in Shout Gun: watch one full cycle before you act, then act on the beat.
- Save your focus for the moment a Freeze or Slow-Mo starts — that is when Shout Gun gives you free points.
- With a Shield active, play aggressively in Shout Gun; the next mistake is free.
- Play Shout Gun in a quiet room, then try it at a party — the louder the crowd, the funnier it gets.
- Replay Shout Gun a few times: each run teaches you the patterns, and scores usually double after the first five games.
Device requirements and privacy
Shout Gun needs a microphone — the one built into your phone, laptop or headset is enough. Allow microphone access when asked; the sound is analysed live in your browser and never uploaded. It is free to play; free players may see a short ad between rounds (never during play), and Premium removes all ads.
